I did not get a confirmation email after my registration. Where is it?

Please check your Spam/Junk folder, the email may have been accidentally misplaced there.

What are the time limits on your films?

All the films that are uploaded to the Short Central are between 1-30 minutes long.

How do I comment on a film?

We are sorry, but at this time Short Central does not allow comments.

How do I change my username?

Sorry, once registered, a username cannot be changed. If you would like to change your email or password however, please navigate to “My Profile” under “Account” in the main menu or your dashboard, and click on “Edit My Profile” which is located right under your profile details. From there you can update both your email and password.

How do I change my password?

To change your password, please navigate to “My Profile” under “Account” in the main menu or your dashboard, and then click on “Edit My Profile” which is located right under your profile details. Once you have entered your new password, please click “Update Profile” to submit the form and finish updating your password.

How do I change my email?

To change your email, please navigate to “My Profile” under “Account” in the main menu or your dashboard, and then click on “Edit My Profile” which is located right under your profile details. Once you have entered your new email, please click “Update Profile” to submit the form and update your email.

How do I bookmark a film?

Go to the film you would like to bookmark, then scroll down to the bottom until you see the bookmark widget. Select which collection you would like to add it to and click “Add To Bookmarks”.

How do I view my bookmarks?

Your bookmarks can be accessed by clicking the “My Bookmarks”  menu item located in your dashboard.

How do I create a bookmark collection?

Go to any film and scroll down to the bottom until you see the bookmark widget. Click “Add Collection” and type in the name you wish to assign to your new collection. Once ready, please press “Enter”.

How do I remove a bookmarked film?

In your dashboard click on the “My Bookmarks” menu item and click on the collection in which the film you wish to remove is located. Go to the film that you would wish to remove and you will see that there is a “Remove” button in the bottom right corner of each item. Once this button is clicked your film will be instantly removed from your collection.

How do I share a bookmarked film?

In your dashboard click on the “My Bookmarks” menu item and click on the collection in which the film you wish to share is located. Go to the film that you would wish to share and you will see that there are several share buttons located at the bottom of each item. Once clicked a new window will open and you will be redirected to the specific social network you clicked.

How do I remove a bookmark collection?

In your dashboard click on the “My Bookmarks” menu item and click on the collection you wish to remove. In the top right section of the screen, a button will appear, labelled “Remove Collection”. Click on this button and then click again on “Remove Collection” to confirm your choice. Once you click “Remove Collection” the first time you can still undo this change by clicking the “Undo” bottom that will appear in the top right. Once you click the second “Remove Collection” button and confirm your decision, there will be no way to retrieve your collection and its items again.

How do I view my history?

In your dashboard simply click on the “My Watch History” menu item and you will be taken to all your previously watched films.

How do I delete my history?

On your “Watch History” page, please navigate to the top where you will see a button labelled “Delete History” and click on it. A pop-up menu will appear asking you to select the length of term you wish to delete. Please select the most appropriate term and click delete history.

How do I access my dashboard?

Your dashboard can be accessed by using the”Account” tab in the main menu.

Where can I find who you are?

Our “About” section can be found in the footer of any page, or alternatively by hovering over the “About” menu item in you dashboard.

How can I send you my feedback?

You can send feedback by either clicking on the “Send Feedback” link which is located in the footer of any page, or alternatively by hovering over the “Help” menu item in you dashboard.

Where can I find your terms of submission?

When you submit a film, the form contains a link to our terms of submission that you have to read and agree to in order to submit the film. You can also find our terms of submission by clicking the “About” section in your dashboard.

How are the genres determined?

Short Central genre system combines the genres taken from the author’s video link description, IMDb page (when apllicable) and submission process (if applicable), and combines it with a review of the film by our team, to determine the primary categories that the film falls under.

How does a film get into the "Award Winners" category?

Films that fall within “Award Winners” have either won multiple awards in various festivals or have had several premieres at prominent festivals such as TIFF, Raindance, Cannes. Sundance or other festivals of a similar caliber, or that have been nominated for or received well-known awards such as Oscars® or other awards of similar caliber.

How does a film get into the "Top Picks" category?

Films that have either more than a million views on the author’s original video link, have high hundreds of thousands of views in combination with various awards from festivals, or have prominent Hollywood celebrities in their crew and/or cast.

How does a film get into the "Trending Now" category?

These are the films that are currently the most popular among the Short Central community.

What is the logline for the film?

A logline should capture the viewer’s attention and give him a brief idea about the film without revealing too much.  If you are submitting your film via our submit form and have a short logline with lots of extra space remaining, you can add the name of the director and/or stars of the film as well in this field. Please note that you have a total of 150 characters for your logline.

Please note that we reserve the right to re-word and rearrange the logline that you submit in any way that we see fit and that we feel may increase and/or enhance the user experience.

What should I put in the descrption of the film that I am submitting?

We recommend that you put as much information as possible in your description. Some of the elements should include the summary of the movie, often begining with the logline and leading into the summary, as well as cast and/or crew information and IMDb links, often followed by awards/nominations (if any) and some credit links to finish off. Please note that the limit for the description is 3000 characters.

If I submit my film, am I guaranteed that it will appear on the website?

We are sorry but due to the large number of submissions, we are unable to guarantee that we will share every film that is submitted to us with the Short Central community. Our team will review your film following a specific criteria to ensure that it meets the unique guidelines required for inclusion in the Short Central library. If chosen, we will contact you via the email provided during the submission process.

If I submit an FAQ, am I guaranteed that it will appear on the website?

We strive to add every FAQ that is submitted and is in unique to the list of questions. If it is deemed offensive or “not unique” however, we will not add the question to our FAQ list. If we accept the question, we will email you upon the addition of the question to our list of FAQs.

Please note that we reserve the right to reword and/or rephrase the question in a any manner that we choose if we feel like it will enhance/improve the user experience.

Will I be notified when you add my film to your website?

We are sorry but due to the large number of submissions, we are unable to contact the film makers who’s film does not get chosen. If your film does get chosen however, we will contact you via the email provided with your submission process once we have reached the decision and added the film to our library.

How do I search for a film?

To search for a film simply click on the menu option labelled “Search” (or if you are located in your dashboard then please use the menu located in the left hand side), and then type in the title of the film or part of the description. When ready, press “Enter” on the keyboard to begin your search.

Where can I view your privacy policy?

Our privacy policy is located in the footer of any page, or alternatively by hovering over the “About” menu item in you dashboard.

Where can I view your terms and conditions?

Our terms and conditions are located in the footer of any page, or alternatively by hovering over the “About” menu item in you dashboard.

Where can I find your copyright department?

Our copyright department can be found by clicking “Copyright”, located at the footer of any page, or alternatively by hovering over the “About” menu item in you dashboard and clicking “Copyright Center”.

How do I like/rate a film?

We are sorry, but at this time Short Central does not allow liking or rating films.

How do I delete my account?

To delete your account, please navigate to “My Profile” under “Account” in the main menu or your dashboard, and then click on “Edit My Profile”, which is located right under your profile details. Please scroll down to find the “Delete My Account” link. When clicked you will be asked one final time if you are sure about your decision, and if you confirm your decision to delete your account, your account will be deleted. Please note that once your account is deleted, there is absolutely no way to bring it back.

Will I be notified when you add my FAQ to your website?

As soon as our team reviews your question we will contact you with an email via the email address provided with your submission, including the answer to your question and the confirmation of whether or not it will be added to our website.

How do I log out?

You can log out using the “Account” option in the main menu, or by hovering over the “Account” menu item in your dashboard and then clicking “Log Out”.

What is the longest film length that I can submit?

We do not accept any short films over thirty minutes in length.

What is the shortest film length that I can submit?

We do not accept any films under one minute in length.
